Bell X-1

Bell X-1

Eduard's 1/48 scale Bell X-1 Profipack is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here is Eduard's 1/48 scale Profipack Bell X-1 built straight from the box.

This was the first jet to break the sound barrier.

The Profipack option meant that some parts were nicely detailed including the resin wheels, cockpit from resin and photo-etched parts and also instruments on the film.

Model was sprayed with Humbrol enamels, cockpit details were highlighted by dry brushing and panel lines were washed with a mixture of black and brown oil-colours.

This model presents the uncommon colours on the first X-1 (46-062) a short-time before the termination of flight tests. This is slightly different from its former colour overall.

It was a pleasure to build this model.
