This is an illustration I did a while back for a
personal project I was working on before my involvement with Accurate
Miniatures. The goal was to illustrate four of the planes flown by Macky
Steinhoff during WWII. Steinhoff is one of my favorite personalities
from WWII, which is why I chose his planes for the subject.
The plane represented here is the Bf-109E-3 that Steinhoff flew during
the Battle of Britain, while he was with JG-52. The illustration was
done entirely in Adobe Illustrator 10.
I have plans to complete illustrations of his G-2 from II. JG-52, an F-3
from JG-77, and the jet he was flying when he crashed at the end of the
war (information is slow to materalize on the jet, though).
