F-84E Thunderjet

Here is my 1/48 scale Republic F-84E Thunderjet based on the Revell kit

This model is a conversion of the F-84G from Revell into an early E-Bird. After all the “hard work” of removing the canopy frames and creating of rivets, I filled the air intakes at the bow and the receptacle door in the leading edge of the wing.

I refined the model with two sets from Aires: landing bays and cockpit. Both of them are of excellent quality and can be highly recommended..

The finish of this model is a mix of 50% Aluminium Testor's Metalizer and 50% Alminute Mr. Metal from Gunze Sangyo. The airplane represents the Commander´s aircraft of a unit of Fuerstenfeldbrueck.

The markings are from the excellent sheet from Cutting Edge. I used another decal sheet from CE for the maintenance markings.
