F-86F Sabre

by Robert White

North American F-86F Sabre

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale F-86F Sabre is available online from Squadron.com

Introduction

This is my first HyperScale submission and my first attempt with Bare Metal Foil.

The entire model was covere with Bare Metal Foil (chrome). After about 10 sheets of foil I began to get the hang of it. After some practice it went on well, applying small pieces overlapping panel lines and then trimming using a razor.

When the entire model was covered I applied car wax and then the decals, then another coat of wax. Buffing the wax really brought out the shine of the foil.

Applying foil was a fun experience that I plan to do more often.

This being only my third model ever constructed, I now have model building fever and I am debating my next project with Bare Metal Foil - B-58, P-51, F-104?
