ITS Fiume

Tauro's Battle Cruiser Fiume with Photo-Etched Parts is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here are some pictures of my ITS FIUME.

This is the Tauro 1/400 model that I entered at the 2002 Nationals. It took a bronze in its category.

The kit builds up nicely, but the instructions are vague on the main mast.

I built her in her colorful 1940 markings before her loss at Matapan. The stripes were a recognition feature for the Regia Aeronautica to prevent friendly fire sine the Regia Aeronautica had a habit of attacking anything that floated. On the other hand it made target ID easy for Stringbags on the hunt!

The starboard side is rigged for underway with the paravane at the ready. The port side is rigged for inport.

For the Plane Talking crowd I have a RO-43 on the forecastle catapult!
