Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9

Tamiya's 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Fw190D-9 is available online from Squadron.com

Introduction

This is my 1/48 Tamiya Focke-Wulf 190D-9 “Brown 7” of II/JG26 Werknummer 601445.

The aircraft was found by British troops at Lister in Norway after the German surrender on 8 May 1945.

Ever information and photo about this aircraft I had found on fantastic book “Green Hearts- First in combat whit the Dora 9” by Alex Urbanke.

The kit was built straight out of the box, and markings are all hand painted except white crosses on upper wings.

Camouflage and markings are (82, 83 and “84”) are typical of Doras of this batch, even if to determine exactly which paint was used from a black and white photo is almost impossible.

Part of the under wings and back fuselage was supposed to be left in bare metal

The tail was oversprayed with Braunviolett RLM 81 and the rudder is in 76.

Weathering was done with oil paints, pastels and pencils.

I hope you like it!
