This is the old Monogram 1/48 A-6E Intruder representing a plane of VA-75
Sunday Punchers flying off the USS John F. Kennedy during Desert
Storm (Jan ’91) as depicted in the Squadron / Signal Publications
“Modern Military Aircraft Intruder” by Lou Drendel.
The model was built
largely OOB with the addition of a couple of Verlinden resin seats and
some scratch built detail on the canopy overhead rail and behind the
seats. Markings were a combination of painted (the large black and white
angled marks on the tail) and custom made decals (all other markings)
printed on an inkjet printer.
