Description

Not long ago I wrote a review on Maquette's 1/35 scale ASU-57 self-propelled gun  Well , now here it is, built straight from the box , with the only addition being the figure that was added for scale effect.

I mentioned in my initial review that the instructions were a little vague. Boy was I right!

Overall things went together fairly well however, in the interior there is a single drawing with a mass of arrows showing where to place parts, but not exact and not in any sequence, so if you put a part in its place, later on you may have to remove it to get another in there first which makes for messy assembly. I was lucky and only had one misshap.

The kit was painted with Gunze Acrylics through an Aztek A470 brush and then lightly weathered using Tamiya Buff.

As mentioned, the figure is not part of the kit. This was sourced from Dragon, with a Hornet head. He was added there to give you an idea of how tiny these little SPGs are.

Overall I found the kit was fun to build, even though you really have to take a lot of care when building. Anyone who likes Russian topics or is after the unusual should have a crack at this kit.
