Tamiya's
1/72 scale Bell X-1 is available online from Squadron
This is Tamiya's 1/72 Bell X-1, which was originally issued in 1989
by Hobby-Spot-U. This company also created Hasegawa's Flapjack kit.
The kit looks nice enough in the box but suffers from a few fit
problems (my first clue that this wasn't a Tamiya original). I had minor
problems with the fuselage halves and the tailplanes.

The kit includes a clear fuselage half through which the aircraft's
innards can be viewed and although these parts are nicely moulded I went
with a conventional build.
The only replacement parts I made were the various booms/aerials on
the wings.
