Italeri's
1/35 scale DUKW is available online from Squadron.com
This is one of my first attempts at miltary vehicle modelling.
I could not resist Italeri's 1/35 scale DUKW when it came out,
especially for only £15. I normally make aircraft but really enjoyed the
assembly of this rather large model straight from the box.

Even more enjoyable was the painting with Tamiya acrylics and
weathering with oil washes and MIG powders and some graphite powder. I
think I overdone this a tab, but there's always next time. The decals
silvered somewhat and I had to respray carefully around them.
Tools and oil drums came from Italeri and Tamiya sets.
The base was a piece of dense foam sprayed with Tamiya desert yellow
to represent a piece of Normandy beach.

I'm sure I saw this particular vehicle on video with DeGaulle
climbimg out of it, but I'm no expert.
