F-4S Phantom II

Revell-Monogram's 1/48 scale F-4J Phantom II is available online

This model started out life some 10 years ago as a
Monogram 1/48 scale F-4J Phantom II.
I modified it at that time with Italeri F-4 E/F outer wings and by that
(and some other things), converted it to a F-4 S.

Last summer I took that old model with silvering decals etc. and thought
"throw it away or refurbish it ". I decided for refurbishing.
I
rescribed the lines, a first for me, added a selfmade infrared sensor
under the nose, added Paragon inner slats and sanded away some humps and
bumps not present on this highly modified J. For reference I used
several pictures in various Phantom books.
The masking almost killed my motivation, but the
model survived...
I used the old Superscale Decals, which are not 100% correct, i.e. the
bird on the nose is far too big and not outlined in red, but besides the
Hasegawa decal, which is as wrong, there is nothing else available.
