Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Ki-61 Hein is available online from Squadron.com

Here are some pics of a recently finished Ki-61 "Hien" in 1/48 scale. The kit is the original edition by Hasegawa.

Hasegawa made no provision for a two-part open canopy but the detail in the cockpit and wheel bay area is sufficient for an "out of the box" build.

Painting was done with Mr. Metallizer and mainly Gunze colours whereas the weathering was applied with Aquarell colours for artists - a technique I can heartily recommend.
