Hasegawa's 1/48 scale George is available online from Squadron.com
Here is my Hasegawa 1/48 Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden Kai "George".
I added stressed metal effect to the surface of the model using the
following technique:
-
The undulating surface was achieved
by carefully scraping soft lines with a curved scalpel blade.
-
Lines of rivets no deeper than a coat
of paint were then added with the point of a needle.

The kit tail was modified to the larger late version.
The antenna line was omitted
My model represents a Shiden Kai of the 343rd Air Group, 407
Squadron, Kyushu, April 1945, flown by WO Isamu Miyazaki.
Painting and markings were all done by brush. I painted several thin
layers, resulting in slightly different shades for each coat. I
emphasize these differences by polishing the finished paint job.

The weathering is completed with an enamel wash.
Hasegawa's kit is authentic, easy to build and has relatively few
parts (this is becoming more important for me) . I really enjoyed
building this masterpiece.
