This is the latest 1/24 scale touring car from the Japanese
Championship released from Tamiya (24277).
The first thing you'll notice is the box is heavy. This is
because the floor pan of the race car is metal and pre-painted.
Apparently, Tamiya is also going to release these as a pre-assembled
and painted models.
The kit went together with no problems. The plastic body is held
onto the metal floor pan by two screws, which then are plugged with
plastic lugs. Care was needed when painting to prevent overspray.
Tamiya’s red and new silver mica were used to paint the model,
followed by a clear coat .
The hardest part of the build was the decals, which took a whole
weekend to do. The two rear wheel arch areas in red are all decals
and I used a whole bottle of decal solution on this project.
In the end, a little time and patience led to a great looking
model.
Hope you like it.
