Tamiya + Bringuier's 1/48 scale
Spitfire Mk.XII

Here is my 1/48 scale Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XII, the first production variant powered by the Griffin engine, converted  from Tamiya's Spitfire Mk.Vb using Bringuier Aviation Products resin parts.

This is a major conversion which requires accurate cutting and trial fiiting.

A complete replacement nose is supplied along with the upper wing surfaces, propeller blades, spinner and rudder. The resin is nicely moulded and very little filler was required.

The cockpit is kit standard but a Hasegawa Spitfire seat was used to replace the Tamiya one.

The kit is finished in Xtracolour paints and the decals are from various sets.
