This is the old Amati multimedia kit of a German Typ VIIB submarine.
The kit was produced in Italy. Scale is 1/72.
Unfortunately, the quality of this kit is absolutely bad, and many
parts are inaccurate.
This project was a genuine multi-media affair, with the kit being
made up of wood, metal, resin, plastic, harz and lead.
The model was painted using Tamiya Acrylic colors.
Long before the Revell 1/72 scale Typ VIIC submarine was released,
three friends who were member of "Hans Grade" Model Club built this
model together in Berlin.
We rebuilt some parts during assembly. Revell of Germany rented this
model for the International Model Fair in Nuernberg 2003, for their
display. This model was also at the 2003 IPMS UK Nationals at Telford.
One year later was the model was damaged during transport so we
rebuilt it as new again, this time with support of our friend Don
Hinton, IPMS Hawaii.
The Berlin Model Club and IPMS Hawaii "Battleship Row" closely
co-operated for this project.
