Description

Here are some photos of my newly completed 79 Squadron Special RAAF BAE Systems Hawk 127.

The following resources were used:

  • Airfix 1:48 100 series kit

  • Model Alliance MA-48112 Commonwealth BAE Systems Hawks decals (very limited to 1000)

  • Neomega Hawk 100 series resin cockpit.

I used Halfords Acrylic Grey Primer for the base Gray FS35237 (slightly too dark not really recommended!), Humbrol 145 Enamel for the Blue/Gray FS36375. The Maroon shade was again Humbrol 19 Gloss Scarlet with Humbrol 166 Satin Light Aircraft Grey wheel well interiors.

The Neomega cockpit set is simply stunning and does the kit justice with minimum fit problems - just patient sanding of casting blocks being needed.

The decals available from Hannants UK, Linden Hill, Victory Prods, Flightline & Flightdecs in the USA & Sandle Hobbies in Australia (as far as I can remember!).
