Heinkel He 162

Dragon's 1/48 scale Heinkel He 162A-2 is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here is Dragon's 1/48 scale Heinkel He 162 Salamander.

HyperScale's Editor, Brett Green, attended Phil's local model club meeting early in December 2003 and brought along his camera gear, lights, bases and backgrounds. Phil took a few pictures of Brett taking photos of his models.

The photo to the right shows two models set up on the same base and background as the image above.

The Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera is set low on the tripod, and therefore is hidden by the photographer at this angle. Although it might look as if Brett is praying, he is in fact looking down into the camera's LCD viewfinder. The viewfinder of the camera may be swivelled in various directions - very helpful to avoid having to crouch down for long periods during extended photo sessions.

The light on the left is a 100 watt video light with a built-in curved reflector. The one on the right is a 500 watt Barton light shooting through a translucent white umbrella. The objective is to get the lights as close as possible to the subjects.

It does get a bit warm working so close to those big lights though!
