Curtiss P-40E Warhawk

AMtech's 1/48 scale P-40E Warhawk is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here are some pictures of my 1/48 scale P-40E from AMtech.

Construction was straightforward, but with some care needed in the areas of the right side engine cover, wing fuselage joint and canopy attachment.

The model was painted using the pre-shading technique with Aeromaster acrylics. Darker areas on the tail and fuselage were then painted slightly darkened olive drab using brush to simulate repainting in field.

Weathering was done with oil wash and pastels.

Paint chips and scratches were executed with sandpaper and sharp blade.

The only addition to the kit parts was the antenna wire from nylon fibre.
