P-47D Thunderbolt "Razorback"

Tamiya's 1/48 scale P-47D Thunderbolt is available online from Squadron.com

When Tamiya announced the future release of a P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback, I was just as skeptical as many HyperScale folks. After all, I still have a couple unbuilt Hasegawa kits sitting in my "to do" pile, so I told myself I could and would resist. Then a friend of mine at a local shop called me over to the counter to check out the contents of the box.

That's all she wrote!

Figuring that there would be a boatload of OD subjects being built, I decided to go with an NMF version of the Razorback. I acquired a recently released set of Eagle Strike decals that featured 3 aircraft from the 362nd Fighter Group.

I chose to portray a P-47D-22 flown by Col. Morton Magoffin, C.O. of the 362nd FG.
