The title profile is an A-4C Skyhawk
(BuNo.147823) of VA-12 during the 1964 Mediterranean deployment of the
U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42). This Aircraft was flown by LCDR
Frank Mudgett, my father.
The profile below is an A-4E Skyhawk
(BuNo.150059) of VA-12 during the 1965 Mediterranean deployment of the
U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt. This Aircraft was flown by CDR Bob Frosio,
Executive Officer of VA-12 at this time. CDR Frosio went on to become
VA-12's Skipper, during the squadron's first war cruise. CDR Bob Frosio
lost his life in a mid air collision with another A-4, while returning
from a strike in North Vietnam, in 1966.
