Yak-3

Eduard's 1/48 scale Yak-3 is available online from Squadron.com

Description

I built Eduard's 1/48 scale Profipack Yak-3 almost straight from the box with a few small additions.

These include dividing plates in wing air intakes, undercarriage position indicators on the wing, antenna line and fuel gauges taken from Modeling the Aircraft of the Soviet VVS page  http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/ModelArticles/Yak_Fuel/index.php and printed on a laser printer. It must be one of the best kits currently available with fantastic level of detail and ease of construction. I think I used
all the weathering techniques known to a modeller on this kit - pre- and post-shading, artist oils wash, watercolours, dry pastels and paint chipping.

The kit is depicted in markings of Semen Rogovoy of the 64 GIAP circa 1945. The decals are of excellent quality and settled down without any traces of silvering.

This is a truly outstanding kit and serious competition to anything coming from Tamiya stable.
